Redmile By-Ways Update

During the past 2 weeks 2 further anti social activity incidents by 4x4 vehicles on the Redmile BOAT's have occurred - Byway Open to All Traffic. Groups of vehicles have been seen using te byways late at night, sounding horns, leaving gates open leaving litter, shouting at residents and leaving mud on the road. Noisily Festival - Barkestone Wood, July 2022

The Parish Council has made representations on the licence application submitted by Noisily Festivals Limited, and will be speaking at the Licensing Committee meeting on 17th January 2022.

Much of the proposed site is in our parish.

Parish Council Meeting - Thursday 16th December 2021

The Parish Council apologises to the residents of Barkestone, Plungar & Redmile that the Parish Council meeting did not go ahead on Thursday 16th December. A member of the Parish Council was isolating in line with COVID guidelines and the meeting was not quorate.

As some of will know, Redmile has two 'by-ways open to all traffic'; one which runs from the top of Church Lane to Long Lane, and another which runs from the end of Easthorpe Lane.

Before the lockdowns, (and, indeed, just before Christmas), these by-ways were frequently used by 'scrambler' motor bikes and four wheel drive vehicles, the latter late at night or very early morning, as off-road entertainment.... Read More »

One matter the Solar Farm application has highlighted is that wildlife sightings in this area are under-reported.

Leicester and Rutland Environmental Records Centre (LRERC) collect and collate details of the flora and fauna in the area and they use this information to inform the planning services about biodiversity.
